Year 4 (2021-22)

Welcome to Year 4!

Hello, Year 4 and welcome back to Bollinbrook School. We have missed you very much.

We are very ‘egg-cited’ for the busy and interesting term ahead!

There are many things to look forward to this term. As well as English, Maths and other usual subjects, we have some interesting topics in the following subjects…

  • R.E: Good News, Description of God, Belonging to the Christian Church and Incarnation (Christmas)
  • Geography: Rivers.
  • History: A local study related to The River Bollin.
  • Science: Living Things and their Habitats and Human Digestion.
  • Spanish: Learning the basics as well as ‘Fruit’ and ‘Vegetables’.
  • Music: ‘Mamma Mia’ and Glockenspiel.
  • Art: Formal art skills.
  • DT: Mechanisms – Levers and Linkages.
  • Computing and Audio Editing.

AND this is the year you could receive your pen licence – so keep working hard on your presentation and letter formation.

This term we are reading ‘The Whale’ by Vita Murrow and ‘Leaf’ by Sandra Dieckmann. I am also looking forward to teaching  our Geography Topic on Rivers. Do you know the name of our local river?

Year 4 will have P.E. on Wednesday and Friday.

For the moment, you are asked to come into school already wearing your P.E. kit. When you grow out of the old kit, please can you purchase the new kit (yellow top and blue shorts). This is so we have a Bollinbrook kit for sports’ competitions. Make sure you have  jogging bottoms and tops for the colder weather.
