Year 4 (2020-21)

Welcome to Year 4!

I hope you have had a restful and fun-filled Easter break and are ready for a busy term. There are many things to look forward to as well as English, Maths and other usual subjects, we have some interesting topics in the following subjects:

R.E: Hinduism

Geography: Volcanoes

History: Continuing ‘The Romans’

Science: Continuing Digestion and then on to Living Things and Their Habitats

Art: 3-D art – mosaics.

DT: Mechanisms (making a book)

In Year 4 we encourage the children to show greater independence as learners and to develop their growth mind set in their approach to work. In class they are given many opportunities to work together cooperatively to discuss their ideas and produce successful, collaborative work.

A high standard of presentation is very important and it has been wonderful to see the children already trying hard with their handwriting and taking pride in their work. Many of children have already received their pen licence – who will be next?
