Year 6 (2020-21)

Welcome to Year 6!

A year filled with thrilling opportunities, tons of hard work and memorable times together as a class. This year we will be delving into fascinating topics such as World War II from the perspective of Anne Frank, the Mayans and ‘Home’ – where is home? Is it a place or a feeling?

SATs are a significant focus throughout the year but will be balanced with the wider curriculum and opportunities for all pupils to shine in their given talents. I am passionate about encouraging pupils to grow, not only academically, but also emotionally and spiritually so that they leave Bollinbrook well-rounded, confident individuals ready for new challenges.

Weekly Reminders

P.E

P.E will be on a Tuesday and Thursday. Children need to come into school dressed in their P.E kits and will stay in these all day.

Homework

Children will have a ‘Homework Diary’ this year. This must be brought into school every day as it will be used to put key information in. Homework for each week will be written in here and it can be used as a way of teacher/ parent communication.

Homework will be sent out on a Friday to be handed in the following Thursday. Children will receive weekly spellings, Maths and English homework. The content and format of homework may change each week. Reading and times tables should be practised daily.
